Teaching Programs Begin In Dharamsala

This will be followed by a five-day teaching on Arya Nagarjuna's Commentary on Bodhicitta (jangchup semdrel) and Kamalashila's The Middling Stages of Meditation (gomrim barpa) from September 30 to October 4 at the Main Tibetan Temple. These teachings are primarily for Chinese Buddhists mainly from Taiwan.

Announcement - Change in Sarnath Teaching Dates
His Holiness the Dalai Lama's seven-day teachings on Arya Asanga's Compendium of Higher Knowledge (ngonpa kuntue) & Shantideva's A Guide To the Bodhisattva's Way of Life (chodjug) being held near the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh has been moved back by one day. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is back in Dharamsala after undergoing medical tests and treatment following some discomfort recently. The physicians have informed His Holiness that his general health condition is good but strongly advised him to curtail his travel schedule. In the immediate future the physicians have advised him to take good rest before resuming his schedule. We are therefore canceling his proposed travel to Europe in October. His Holiness very much regrets the inconvenience this will cause to the organizers of his programs as well as to those who were looking forward to participating in them. We hope everyone will understand the situation.

The doctors attending on him have given assurances that there is absolutely no cause for concern. All that he needs is a good rest. His personal physicians attributed this to exhaustion and have advised him to cancel his engagements for the time being and instead complete the remaining medical tests that began earlier this month in Mumbai. New Delhi, India, 2 June 2008 (By Tenzin Sangmo, Phayul) - The Dalai Lama on Sunday inaugurated the Terrorism - National and International World Conference at the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi. Organized by the Jama Masjid United Forum, the conference projected intense deliberation on the root causes of terrorism, its new characteristics and emerging trends.
