Darjeeling, Dec 9: Tibetans across the world continue to fights their battle although 49 years have passed since they fled their homland and a generation was born in exile.
The community has decided to come together once again on World Human Rights Day in Darjeeling tomorrow as part of the fight for its payul (fatherland). Around 100 Tibetans and Tibet supporters gathered at the City Hall Square in New York City to mark the 60th Anniversary of World Human Rights Day. On this cloudy day with heavy rain fall by evening, Tibetans and supporters braved the heavy rainfall to protest the ongoing egregious human rights violations inside Tibet.
The day started with the Tibetan National Anthem at the City Hall from where the protesters marched towards United Nations shouting slogans calling for an end to the "Human Rights Violations in Tibet". more...

The Human Rights Day is not just an occasion to celebrate, it is also one of stocktaking to assess the progress made in the protection of the basic rights of the entire human family in the world at large - especially in the small and weak nations. Today, as we observe the 60th anniversary, it is also an appropriate occasion to reflect on both the efforts and achievements of the UN, so far, for the protection of human rights in the Chinese occupied Tibet and around the world, with a view to prepare the agenda for the future in that direction.

Bihar Flood Tibetans to Join Relief Work in Bihar
New Delhi, September 5 - After 6 months of vigorous political campaign, the Tibetan Youth Congress diverted its energy to a social cause, the relief works in Bihar which saw the biggest ever disaster caused by flood in 50 years. The Tibetan Youth Congress has set up a relief team to coordinate relief efforts and provide logistical support to those affected by the recent floods in the state.
